From 1971 to 1984, he was employed in hospital financial management in hospitals in Chicago, Illinois – Dothan, Alabama – Homestead, Florida and Alamosa, Colorado being the Chief Financial Officer at the last two hospitals.  He had his own accounting practice and owned an insurance agency in Colorado before moving to San Antonio in 1991.

He was employed at Jewish Family Service in San Antonio for 6 years as their Controller and at Connections Individual and Family Services in New Braunfels as the Controller.

Preston and his wife Anne DuBose own Odyssey Travel located on the northeast side of San Antonio.  He currently works full time at the travel agency doing all of the accounting plus some sales.
