| Larry Grosskopf, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist at the
San Antonio State Hospital. He earned his doctorate degree in Clinical
Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1991. Larry hails
from Pensacola, Florida and has been living in San Antonio, since 1989,
when he arrived for a pre-doctoral Clinical Internship in Psychology at
the Audie Murphy V.A. Hospital. In 1990, he accepted a post-doctoral fellowship
in Geriatrics and Neuropsychology at San Antonio State Hospital. He has
been employed as a full-time Clinical Psychologist at the San Antonio State
Hospital since that time.
Larry first dealt with computers in a graduate statistics class at Morehead State University in 1983. He first owned a computer in 1985, when he began his work on his doctorate. He really feels indebted to his computer for helping him through graduate school. In 1995, Larry attended his first Alamo PC Meeting and joined on the spot. Larry has been a member of the Board of Directors since 1998. He served as President-Elect in 1999-2000, President from 2000-2001 and Immediate Past President during this past year, 2001-2002. He has also served as Product Review Coordinator for Alamo PC Organization, Inc. and is again serving in that capacity as of May. Highlight (or was it a lowlight?) was being President when Alamo PC had to move the Resource Center from Central Park Mall to it’s current Crossroads Mall location. Larry and his wife, Marta have two children at home, Zoë, a lively 9 year-old and Jackson, an active 7 year-old. He believes in helping his children gain computer skills and expertise as they grow. They have been exposed to computers and have been using them since an early age. Just like most other things, a balance is indicated but computers are a good tool to help children learn, develop and grow. His other hobbies include tennis, coaching kid’s sports, photography
and videography, and reviewing software and hardware products for the |
