Sandra Bloom, Ph.D., is currently the Project Director for the San Antonio Urban Systemic Program (SAUSP), a collaborative effort of nine San Antonio school districts to advance student achievement in mathematics, science, and technology, supported by a National Science Foundation grant.  Her background in educational work includes fifteen years in special education, five years at the Education Service Center, Region 20, and three years as Assistant Superintendent in a small district north of Houston (1999-2002). After 18 years in San Antonio, the time in the east Texas piney woods was a pleasant change, but it was nice to return home

Sandra received her doctorate in Education Administration from Texas A&M in 1994 after the first of her three granddaughters was born.  It took twenty-nine years from junior college graduation to walk the stage in College Station, but since learning new things is always an adventure, the journey went by fast.

Her interest in Alamo PC began in the early days, and she attended some general meetings, but life circumstances did not support getting involved at that point.  Now her interest in technology is not only for her work, but her personal use and possible job opportunities in retirement (still too far away!).  She attended the CD burning class, bought a program, and now has the data from her hard drive backed up on the CD’s.

Sandra has one daughter, who is married and the mother of the three adorable grandgirls,  ages 10, 7, and 3.  They live in Leakey.  Her son lives in Seattle and is a network engineer in a company that maintains the internet connection for large companies with internet services.

Her hobbies include reading, sewing, traveling, a newly acquired interest in learning Photoshop (thanks, Alamo PC and Joseph DeLeon!), and a Fox Terrier, named Major.
