Barth was born in Chicago, Illinois, attended the University
of Missouri and Drury
College and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.
He entered the US Air Force in 1962 and served for more than 22 years, most of the time in the Security Police career field. He had eleven years in various command positions including command of units in California, San Antonio, the Phillipines, Wyoming and Germany.
After retirement from the Air Force he managed a private security company, worked for the Post Office and then several positions at Fort Sam Houston. He retired from Fort Sam Houston in December 1999.
He married Marion Lohmar in 1959 and they have two children, both of which reside in the San Antonio area.
His wife convinced him to buy an Atari 130XE and he has been involved with computers ever since and in the users groups that support the use of PCs. He currently is the Treasurer of APCO.
After retirement he will be traveling, working in various volunteer groups and spoiling his grand daughters. He is a contributor to the PC Alamode magazine of the APCO.
