| Don has been a member of the Alamo PC Users Group since 1993. He is currently a desk volunteer and has served in that capacity previously while the Group was located in the Central Park Mall. While living in the D.C. area in the mid 80s, he was a member of the Capital PC Users Group and studied then with the Leading Edge computer users.
Don is USAF retiree and has since been employed as a custom frame shop owner, a flight instructor, a corporate pilot and as a community college instructor. Since 1988 he has enjoyed his retirement while traveling and just taking it easy. He still considers himself somewhat of a beginner in the computer field, regardless of the fact he completed two semesters of programming in FORTRAN and SPS while attending The University of Oklahoma. Typing punch cards and inputting them after writing (and re-writing) programs for the IBM 1410 and the 1620 was the extent of his computer activity in the early 60s. Long since forgotten, however. He says those computers were monsters, very intimidating and that they occupied several rooms in a large brick building. He now enjoys working with his small Dell products at home in non-commercial computer activities.
If he is selected, Don would welcome the opportunity to serve as a member of the Board and would offer his assistance
whenever and wherever it is needed.
