Alamo PC Bookstore

Anyone with an interest in computers is welcome to join and attend our meetings. 

Those with an interest in personal or small business computing will find both basic and advanced information in our club's meetings

Owning a computer is definitely not a requirement for membership.

1. Monthly Meetings

Alamo PC's Monthly Membership Meeting, software and hardware vendors demonstrate their latest products
Meetings are free and open to the public
When!
The second Monday of each month, starting at 7 p.m

Parking is available in the immediate vicinity
Extra!
At monthly meetings, local and national companies provide formal presentations, providing the first glimpse of new products There are drawings for free software and hardware, opportunities to get user group discounts and occasional product samples at most meetings.

2. PC Alamode Magazine

What!
Each month Members receive the international award-winning computer news magazine, The PC Alamode.
Extra!
Each issue of the PC Alamode contains 64 pages of product reviews, how-to articles and local advertising. The Learning Center section will keep you informed about the Study Groups, Classes and Clinics.

3. Product Review - Write a review for the magazine and keep the product

What!
Opportunity to obtain free software, books, and occasionally hardware in exchange for writing a review for the PC Alamode.
Extra!
Products for review checkout is held at the monthly meeting, 6:30pm  to 7pm

4. Study Groups, Classes and Clinics

What!
The Alamo PC Organization holds more than 30 Study Group, Classes, or Clinics each month. Some are small, some are large, some are for novices and some are for experts

Every month, throughout the month.
Where!
Most are held in our hands-on computer labs located within the Alamo PC Computer Learning Center
Extra!
Alamo PC also has training videos for popular software programs that can be viewed by members.

5. The Doctor Is In Computer Diagnostic Clinic

What!
Member Volunteer "Computer Doctors" share their time to handle technical hardware and software questions and solve problems.  They attempt to troubleshoot hardware and sort out software problems on site.  If the problem is beyond their means, the member is referred to one of the repair shops that advertise with Alamo PC.  The repair shop does charge for the problem.  We do the work at the Computer Learning Center as a member-to-member benefit.

6.Computer Learning Center

What!
Located in the Crossroads Mall, the Alamo PC Computer Learning Center houses two computer labs for hands-on training, library and our administrative office. [MAP

7. Computer Library

What!
Members have access to our technical, reference computer library, containing books and training tapes.
Includes a special section of computer related mystery novels.

8. Help Numbers

What!
Help Numbers when you need them the most!  Deadlocked with a computer problem or question?  Get access to personal help from Alamo PC members. Just cal!
Extra!
This service is provided as a membership benefit, please have your member number available when placing a call.

9. Leadership skills development and enhancement opportunities

What!
You are given opportunities to help our activities with interesting assignments. Members often state a reluctance to volunteer because they think you have to be a Computer Expert, but nothing could be further from the truth! Alamo PC has Volunteer opportunities to fit every skill level, from beginners to experts.Alamo PC's volunteers have helped the organization to achieve success as the second largest PC User Group in the United States. However, there is always more to do and new volunteers are always needed.

10. Discounts

What!
Local and national vendors discount their products and services for Alamo PC and for user groups generally. Discounted merchandise can be a significant payback for Alamo PC. membership. However, it's always important to read the fine print.
